Plant-O-Meter

WHY PLANT-O-METER?

Plant-O-Meter™ crop sensor is an affordable multispectral Precision Agriculture device, which assesses health of the plants by measuring Optical Vegetation Indices (OVI).

Plant-O-Meter acquires in real-time more than 20 vegetation indices that indicate the occurrence of drought, heat, malnutrition or pest-related stress at different growth stages of crops.

Low device cost enables quick ROI, and open architecture provides possibility for integration with automation equipment from other vendors (for example: variable rate fertilizers).

Plant-O-Meter device and recommendation platform based on AgroSense, have all tools for:

  • Reducing in fertilizer costs up to 25%
  • 3-4% yield increase for cereals and oilseeds
  • Reduced carbon footprint

Plant-O-Meter is based on the patented technology developed by Biosense Institute.

Plant-O-Meter Handheld

The Plant-O-Meter™ Handheld is a standalone version of the sensor device, intended for personal use.

The main features:

  • 6 optical analysis channels (BLUE, GREEN, RED, RED EDGE, NIR1, NIR2)
  • Bluetooth for communication with Plant-O-Meter App
  • Embedded algorithm for calculating >20 optical vegetation indices
  • Internal Li-ion battery with USB-C charging port (8h autonomy)
  • Interfaces: 1x button, 1x signal LED
  • Temperature compensation
  • Monitoring of device tilt angle during measurement for automatic exclusion of measurements with tilted device
  • Predictive maintenance: early detection of enclosure damage (by measuring internal moisture)

(Optional): High-accuracy L1/L2 dual channel GPS (<2 meter precision)

The measurement has two easy-to-use modes (triggered and continuous), both initiated using Plant-O-Meter App.

Plant-O-Meter OEM

The Plant-O-Meter™ OEM is a version of the sensor device, intended for integration with the other third-party systems and machinery.

The main features:

  • 6 optical analysis channels (BLUE, GREEN, RED, RED EDGE, NIR1, NIR2)
  • Bluetooth for communication with Plant-O-Meter App (initial setup and FOTA only)
  • J1939 CAN bus for the integration with machinery
  • Embedded algorithm for calculating >20 optical vegetation indices
  • Externally powered 12/24V (no battery)
  • Interfaces: 1x button, 1x signal LED
  • Temperature compensation and humidity detection
  • Monitoring of device tilt angle during measurement for automatic exclusion of measurements with tilted device
  • Predictive maintenance: early detection of enclosure damage (by measuring internal moisture)

The Plant-o-Meter™ software applications suite provides the end-users with the tools to gather data in an organized way, store and pre-process on the Cloud, and manage the parcels and performed actions. Data gathered with the Plant-o-Meter™ devices are ultimately converted into the actionable recommendations, done by experts as an add-on service through the AgroSens platform.

Plant-O-Meter App

The Plant-O-Meter (™) App is a free companion software to the sensor device, with the main functionality to gather data from the sensor device(s) and to synchronize data acquisition sessions with the Cloud.

The features of the Plant-O-Meter (™) App:

  • Connecting to sensor device (s) via Bluetooth
  • Setting the parameters and triggering the data acquisition
  • Acquiring GPS location, either from phone or sensor device* (if available)
  • Session data file management
  • Map+overlay simple visualisation

Plant-O-Meter Cloud

The Plant-O-Meter (™) Cloud is a free Cloud software, intended for storing, simple manipulations and exporting session data files acquired by the sensor device and App.

Exported data can be used with many analytics software packages for further analysis and visualization.

The same user account to access the Cloud and to use the App, can gather session data from one or more sensor devices.

AgroSens - Plant-O-Meter Edition

AgroSens is a digital platform that provides support to farmers and agricultural companies in monitoring the growth of crops and planning of the agricultural activities. The Plant-O-Meter Edition of the AgroSense integrates Plant-O-Meter as a source of information.

The basic features of the platform are completely free of charge, and include all the tools needed to manage and visualize the conditions of the parcels.

The AgroSens platform is intended to provide additional services for premium users custom made to fit their needs, for example:

  • Expert agronomist advices
  • Visualisation and analysis of drone images
  • Storage and visualisation of maps of physical and chemical properties of the soil

Data feeds (satellite imagery, weather forecast, information about occurrence of pests, and similar) are localized. Please contact us for supported regions and premium membership.
